Policies
- Appointment cancellations should be made no later than 24 hours
prior to scheduled visit.
- Please bring all medications that your child is currently taking
at the time of your visit.
- Insurance cards must be presented for each visit.
- Co-payments and balances must be paid at check-in.
General Office Tips
- Call a few days in advance if you need a refill on medication, a
referral to a specialist, immunization records, a school/camp form
filled out or some other non-urgent request. Please do not wait
until the last minute if you need something from the office.
- Be on time for appointments. If it is your first
visit, it is good to show up 15-20 minutes early to fill out
insurance forms and emergency information. Late patients
affect the office
schedule and make other patients wait.
- Call early for a sick child appointment. If
you call early in the morning, you are most likely to be seen that
same morning or early afternoon. If you call
later in the day, you may not be seen until the late in the day or
possibly the next day.
- Consider scheduling your child's wellness checkup
in the summer when the office will be less busy. This may give
you more time with the doctor and you will be less likely to
wait for an appointment.
- Prepare a list of questions that you would like to
discuss with the doctor for your visit. Getting your questions
answered can prevent unnecessary calls or returns.
- Ask questions if you don’t understand or agree with the doctor. A little discussion about your concerns can prevent misunderstandings and reassure you about what
the
physician is doing.
- Provide the office with feedback about your
visits. If you have a problem with an office staff, let the
Administrative Assistant or
doctor know.
- Find someone to watch your other kids when you
come to your appointment. This may not always be possible, but you
will have a better visit if there are not 2 or 3 extra kids
running around.
Reasons for Delays
- The doctor has been called to the hospital for an
urgent problem, such as a delivery or emergency case.
- A very sick patient is in the office and they are
working to help this patient.
- Fitting a sick child into the daily schedule.
- Patients show up late for their appointments.
